Can we please talk about the fact that this is a site where people are literally bullied into deleting their blogs?

This person deleted their blog because of this post
image

They got so much hate that they deleted their entire blog…just because they didn’t notice the joke.
And this happens ALL the time. People are bullied from this website. I’m not exaggerating, this is complete bullying, there’s no other word for it.

And this is the Avengers fandom? Really? One of my fandoms did this? That’s disgraceful.

You know, for a website that claims to be tolerant and open to everything, be it gender, race, orientation, preferences, or whatever, for people who claim to always be there if people are depressed or suicidal or just having a bad day.
You’re pretty good abusing people.

This is what White people mean when they say they’re “colorblind.”

The worst part is some white people will look at that statement and think “what’s wrong with that?”

"We praise people for being “naturally” smart, too, “naturally” athletic, and etc. But studies continue to show, as they have for some time now, that it is generally healthier to praise schoolchildren for being hardworking, than for being naturally gifted. We know now that to emphasize a child’s inherent ability places pressure on that child to continue to be accidentally talented, which is something that is hard for anyone to control. When the children who are applauded for their natural skills fail, they are shown to take the failure very personally. After all, the process of their success has always seemed mysterious and basic and inseparable from the rest of their identity, so it must be they who are failing as whole people. When students are instead complimented and rewarded for their effort and improvement, they tend to not be so hard on themselves. When they fail, they reason, “Well, I’ll work harder next time.” They learn that they are capable of success, rather than constantly automatically deserving of it, and they learn simultaneously that they are bigger and more complex than their individual successes or failures."

Annnnnd people against giving Plan B to 11 year old girls support 11 year old girls being pregnant and raising children.

If an 11 year old comes to someone asking for Plan B, they’ve already had sex.  So would “It’s Pretty Ugly” rather have pregnant 11 year olds (from rape or incest because if an 11 year old is having sex it’s most likely one of these)?  Or do they think that available morning after pills make people ‘promiscuous’ and drives younger and younger people to have sex.

The thing that’s “Pretty Ugly” about an 11 year old having to ask for Plan B is that she is in that position in the first place. If an 11 year old is facing pregnancy she has been abused and a crime has been committed.

If an 11 year old is brave enough to seek help immediately after being abused and know that Plan B is the right option, I applaud her. She is far braver than I could ever be. I also applaud Planned Parenthood for realizing that horrid things happen in this world that lead to adolescents facing pregnancy and for standing up and providing adolescents with the health care and counselling (yes, that do that or refer patients to counselors, CPS, etc.) that they desperately need.

There’s a saying “Don’t Shot the Messenger.” In this instance I will say “Don’t Defame the Health Care Provider.” They only want to help young girls who have found themselves (do to no fault of their own) in a horrible circumstance. Stopping Planned Parenthood from providing young girls with Plan B will not prevent teen (or adolescent) pregnancy. In fact (much like banning birth control) it would Increase pregnancy among underage girls.I have no Idea how the idea of “denying access to such preventative will lead to less of the very thing it wants to prevent” makes any sense in anyone’s mind. It is the very opposite of logic.

Want to help abused girls? Go after Rapists and Abusers. They are the one’s at fault for the adolescent becoming pregnant. Not the Health Care Provider who only wishes to help people in need.

I just want to say that this is why minority representation in the media matters. Mae Jemison was inspired to become an astronaut after watching Nichelle Nichols as Uhura on Star Trek.

Relevant to the thing I just said.
